Haha I think the moral of Homestuck is ‘Everyone is doomed to failure’ but you’re probably right. Jane herself is so wrapped up in Romcom that she’s not even playing the game that’s already started. Other people have already mentioned how there are no prototyping towers on the planets/no orbs on the ring, so maybe the point is that they’re so wrapped up in Jakestakes that they fuck up and miss major steps of the game. Or something.
Who knows.
